4th and 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Slater and Mrs. Scull have teamed up to write and win a grant to get our students moving, while feeding those in need. This week, UNICEF Kid Power Bands were delivered to our school. Students will wear these pedometers to count their steps and activity level each day. Then, they will create Kid Power Points by syncing their steps to the provided LG tablet. Kid Power Points unlock funding from partners, parents and fans, and funds are used by UNICEF to deliver lifesaving packets of therapeutic food to severely malnourished children around the world. The more they move, the more they earn, and the more food and medicine is donated!
