These meetings serve as a platform to discuss the needs of English Learners, provide feedback on effective ways to support them, and ensure their full participation in all school activities. ELAC also advises the principal and staff on the development of the school's bilingual education master plan, contributes to the school's needs assessment, and helps inform the Schoolsite Council.

As you may know, San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) and San Diego City College both reported ICE arrest activity outside their schools in recent weeks. To ensure San Diegans are aware of the rights every person in America is entitled to, regardless of immigration status, Rep. McGill will be offering popsicles for $2 (cash, credit or Venmo) between 3 and 4pm on Thursday and Friday, September 17th and 18th. Proceeds will be used for field trips for our students.

This year's Schoolsite Council (SSC) will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at 5pm; anyone is free to join at the school or online via meet.google.com/ofn-tmro-txi The Schoolsite Council develops the Local Control and Accountability Plan for programs funded through the consolidated application, as well as the school's Comprehensive School Safety Plan. When life hands you lemons, what do you do? Go on a field trip! After school and throughout Back to School Night, McGill will be selling lemonade and other refreshments to fund field trips for the students. Lemonade, fruit punch, popsicles, water, nachos will all be available; cash, credit or Venmo. Supporting our students is tasty!
