  1. Total Current Enrollment - 98 Projected enrollment: 110 underenrolled by: 12 We are distributing fliers around San Diego, promoting a community free Zumba class, a fitness walk around the neighborhood, along with events that attract people to our school.

  2. Hispanic Celebration Field Trip Fundraiser: we fundraised $649 surpassing our $500 goal. School contribution $60. Total profit $589.

  3. Field trips being planned for this semester: two day camping trip for 4th grade, fishing trip for 3rd and 5th grade, Science Museum for K, 1st and 2nd, San Diego Zoo for TK. 

  4. Spooky Walkathon October 25th at 9:00 am fundraiser. We are promoting fitness and Community related activities. 

  5. By January 2026 the Board must complete the following: 

    1. Brown Act refresher course training.

    2. Mandatory Ethics training facilitated by our law firm. 

    3. We need a solid date for this to be planned (November or December)

  6. TK and NHA collaboration is up and running. NHA will train McGill staff member in how to administer assessments, children’s observations and other documentation needed by NHA. The permanent teacher will return to her position November 13th, 2025.

  7. Dibbels Assessment is currently being given to students to measure reading ability and areas of need. Other assessments being used for academic purposes are DRA (reading assessment hard copy), STAR Renaissance Math and Reading (online), Benchmark beginning of the year assessments.

  8. The following online programs are used to support students in the classroom: Benchmark, Dream Box reading, Raz-kids, Mystery Writing Pilot Program, Patio, Brain Pop Jr., Lexia, Flocabulary, Levered, Imagine, and Mystery Science. 

  9. Progress notes were sent home last week. This was a summary of student progress in all academic areas to give parents an idea of their child’s progress.

  10. Afterschool tutoring classes are being offered to students that need help in the areas of writing, reading and math. 

  11. Training the Trainer: Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 10/29-10/30.

  12. Volunteers needed in the areas of : classroom assistance, fundraising, recruitment, office, Lunch supervision, and garden upkeep.

  13. We are actively seeking sponsors/donations to promote student attendance (prizes: bicycles, toys,etc) parent involvement (gift cards for groceries, movie tickets, gas cards) Advertisement for the school (news papers, radio, bus benches), and to assist with fundraising costs at the school level.

  14. We received a generous donation of 6 cases of copy paper (by an anonymous donor), $700 donation of toys, ipad, new clothes for students, and food items for our Hispanic Celebration (Roxanne Hector), $70 cash donation (Barbara Burt) and art/school and office supplies (Mr. Sharp).
