We celebrated the excellence of our McGill students on Friday, January 13th.
We began by giving out awards for Citizenship, Math, English Language Arts, Science, Music and Athletics to deserving students from each classroom:
Then, in a first for McGill, we gave out two Character Counts Leadership Awards in honor of
Rev. George Walker-Smith, one of our school's founders.
Ms Carolyn Smith, Board member and daughter of Rev. Smith was on hand for the presentation, flanked by Board President Beaver and Principal Mendoza:
Each month we will choose two students whose character qualifies them for this award; one for grades TK-2, and one from grades 3-5. For December, our awardees were Kaya Green and Jadiel Camarena:
Congratulations to these fine students!
